Powder Coating uses electrostatic attraction to apply a solid powder coating to the metal surface, which is then cured by high-temperature baking to form a hard, corrosion-resistant, scratch-resistant protective film. The process is solvent-free, making it clean, environmentally friendly, and it is widely applied to steel structures and hardware.

In addition to black, we offer a variety of powder-coated finishes, including red, green, and gray.

Process Flow
  • Pretreatment
This involves the removal of oil, dust, and rust from the component surface. It also creates a corrosion-resistant phosphate coating or chromate conversion coating to improve coating adhesion. Typical pretreatment steps include degreasing, rust removal, phosphating (or chromating) and passivation.
  • Electrostatic Powder Coating
Using electrostatic attraction, the powder coating is evenly applied to the surface of the component.
  • Curing
The coated component is placed in an oven at approximately 200°C for 20 minutes, allowing the powder to melt, level, and cure into a durable protective coating bonded to the surface.

Powder coating is suitable for a wide range of conductive metals including carbon steel, iron, galvanised steel, and cast steel.

  • Wall Thickness
Components with wall thicknesses of 0.5 mm and above can be processed. For thin-wall parts, curing parameters are carefully controlled to minimize distortion.
  • Size
Suitable for applications ranging from small hardware components to large equipment frames, enclosures, and steel structures, with a maximum linear dimension of 2.5 m.
  • Weight
Suitable for both light and heavy-duty welded components, with weights ranging from 1 kg to 300 kg.
  • Corrosion Resistance
Powder coating provides excellent corrosion protection and is commonly used on our CO₂ welded components.
